Yesterday evening I went to my second official Soundvizion photoshoot. Now, I’m not usually camera shy or anything, but photoshoots is something I have to get used to I suppose. My first one was last summer and I felt awkward as ever. E telling me how to pose, Angel watching me, all of the above in the picture watching me, the Morgantown DJz watching me…it was a little nerve wracking.

And I didn’t really like the shots E got. But for my first time, I guess they weren’t that bad.

Last night wasn’t so bad tho. There was no Johnny unfortunately since he’s Mr. Hollywood now lol, O and Ether were there to lighten the mood, and I guess I was just looser this time. Steph took the pictures, so that helped a lot. It’s weird posing for a dude sometimes. lol. But I think the pics I took this time were ill as shit. Hopefully you’ll be seeing them on a flyer near you! lol.

I really don’t know why I wrote this entry. I think I just wanted to brag I was at a photoshoot. lol. Still haven’t seen Watchmen tho, should’ve went this past weekend when I had the gwap. Soon tho…

Chuck City’s very own Dirty Hun and Ben Grady are making their way to Morgantown on Thursday for my birthday show. I expect some more wild footage like this to follow. You should be there.

Did some new music tonight. Finally added a verse to this beat Phyr Squad sent me last April…I can’t explain why I’m a lazy fuck, I just am at times. Trying to break that tho. Hopefully Thrilla will get it mixed down soon so I can see if I murked them or they murked me. lol. I think it’s a real solid verse tho.

So far 50 some people have confirmed for my party on facebook. So that means I should expect half of them. lol. I really do hope this show is huge. It would make for a memorable birthday and be great promotion of Soundvizion and myself.

I really, really, really need to record new songs for the show tho. I don’t want to do the same set, especially when I’m headlining. A few new songs and new verses would be perfect. I just want to make this my best show ever. If a man can’t have his best sho ever on his birthday, when can he?

I've been mostly busy redesigning B Hyphen.com. It's not ready yet tho, don't look. I made a new music blog at http://itshyphen.blogspot.com. I added some stuff to the Soundvizion myspace.

The other night, I got to talk to my friend I've known for 8 years, Erik Fromme aka efromme for the first time. He asked me about the status of my podcast and then shared some thoughts on hip-hop and my music. And I recorded it.  We talked on the phone like schoolgirls. lol. I also have been updating Hip-Hop Manifesto!!!: The Blog pretty often again too. So I'm doing pretty nice on the computer.

If only writing and music came as easy.

So we'll see what happens. I hope to get this blog more content than just my twitter posts. But that's always my goal isn't it.

I'm going out of town this weekend, won't be back until Sunday. And I work all Thanksgiving week. Not cool. But it is cash. Enough for now.

Yeah so tonight I was scheduled to perform at 123 for the WVU Young Democrats show called Party For America. I'm super amped to be involved with something like this so I make my set about 50 some minutes and I'm all hyped up.

I get there about 9:10. Supposed to start at 9. First mistake (no black jokes either! lol). Cortez is there but he has to set up his tables. 9:20. The he spins some stuff to get in the groove of thing. 9:25. I'm on.

This would have to be my worst performance in awhile. I just wasn't in the moment I suppose. I started with "PSA" but it was really too slow. "Best Fall Back" was better. "Death Before Dishonor Part 2" was good. "Come Out Swinging" was cool until Strizy messed up on the tables and threw me off and I did the third verse second and the second verse third. I skipped "Feelin' So Good". Mistake. "Gun To My Head" started out good but I messed up the second verse and we killed it. I never perform it. "Ain't Right" was okay except for me stumbling over the actual track so I could say my Obama line. Then I think "Demon In The Bottle" was next and that was so so. And then...my set was over so the next band could go on.

I squandered a great opportunity to get new fans since a lot of the people there weren't typical hip-hop fans. But I blew it. I blame myself for being late tho and for trying to do too much. I should have stuck with what I know.

As for "Swagger Like Us", I really like it but I don't think anyone else is too impressed with it. No one commented on it on lj or facebook. Chiv said he enjoyed it (which doesn't sound that great lol), E said it was okay and Johnathan said it was a good track. So I don't know. I'm about to put it on myspace and post it on wvrapscene and see what happens. But I'm getting the same feeling about "Swagger" as I had about "J's And Nikes". I really like it but I don't know if it'll make the final cut of the new mixtape. We'll see.

After 6 performed at midnight, the whole crew headed to Rain and Octane to see Moose and Sean respectively. MI dropped me off. Now here I am.

Angel will be here around 7 this evening with all her stuff from Keyser which means she'll finally be moved in! So that's one thing I can look forward to. I work all weekend tho and I'm probably gonna miss another Soundvizion video shoot tonight.

So yeah, I'm gonna twitter, check facebook, and go to bed. Until later.

I don't know where to start. It's nice to actually have a bunch of things I want to talk about instead of forcing out entries. Tho I'd rather have a decent post once a day. Oh well.

I started my new job at the Shoe Dept. It's not bad at all. I straighten up shoes and I ask people if they need help, which 70% of the time, they don't. When they do, I help them find a shoe or a size and then I get commission. Easy.

The house is about moved into. Angel and Heather unpacked a lot of the kitchen stuff when I was at work Friday. I still have a crap load of my clothes to put away. Angel still has to bring her clothes and some stuff. My computer is up and running and my mic is ready to be put back and and put into use.

I went to see Wiz Khalifa perform on Thursday at Octane. My homies Phyr Squad (and new Soundvizion labelmates) opened for him and killed it. David opened too. He was okay. I think he was more pressed by his upcoming homecoming king run. Seriously.

Wiz...wasn't that impressive. I like him better on the record than live. His live show looked like every other rapper's live show. But Octane was pretty packed so he didn't really care. After the show, I went downstairs with E to interview him. The bodyguard and some big mouth promoter and some guy that I guess was Wiz' manager didn't let me near him. E did his interview and I watched from about 6 feet away. Then a few minutes later Wiz came out and was next to me so I introduced myself as B Hyphen and I was with Monstalung and Soundvizion and I have a blog and I was planning to post his new mixtape. Then someone interrupted. When the interruption was over I tried to keep talking but Wiz gave me some wack ass hand signal that he was busy or to wait a second. I don't think it was wait a second tho. More like a whatever signal. So I went back upstairs.

Wiz Khalifa is a dick.

The weekend was pretty uneventful. I watched season 1 of House minus 4 episodes cause Chiv missed them by accident. I'll need to get season 2 off of him soon. Angel and I just enjoyed our new place for the most part and we went out to Fairmont to see a band Heather knows on Saturday. On the way back we saw a baby deer get hit by a motorcycle. Angel was shook up the rest of the way back.

I was going to watch the Cowboys/Packers game on Sunday night at Sports Page but Angel hit her head really hard and I didn't want her to drive home so she stayed another night and called off work in the morning.

I checked my email and saw that my dad had emailed me on Friday. He's been having back problems and they even found a small aneurysm in his pelvis. He said my mom is doing even worse than he is. I haven't been home since January and because of work I haven't been able to go home with Chiv even tho he's went back twice this month. I hope I'll find a break in my schedule so I can before soemthing happens that I'll regret for the rest of my life.

I got off of work around 10 and called Angel once I got to the station. I'm about to head home. I'm okay, just tired and worried. And hungry. Figure I'll get into some sloppy joes once I get home.

The good news: I really think I'm ready to write and record some new material. 6 will be happy about that. Because of living with Johnathan I found it difficult to write and record new music and I missed the opportunity to be on 6's new mixtape that's coming out. All I keep hearing about is how Phyr Squad submitted nine tracks. Good for them. They worked hard and they deserve it. I got love for those dudes. But my music comes to me when it comes. Plain and simple. But I'm ready to go back in. I just have to learn to stay back in.

Friday was Beanz' bachelor party. My first bachelor party. It was awesome. We went to the strip club, I drank. We went to Korey's and O had brought a a stripper from Ohio, I drank. I partied with all my homies, I drank. I met up with them around 1 in the morning and didn't get back to the house until 6 in the morning. It was awesome.

Saturday, woke up to discover Johnathan had cut his foot, couldn't walk, and left his car in Sabraton. Angel and I go to get it...the grass is too wet to drive it out of where he parked. We ended up sending it further down the hill trying to get a running start. We gave up so that Angel could get her nails done and Nikki and Tiana could go do something. I don't remember. Anyway, cause of Johnathan, I missed the WVU game kickoff and b/c I was aggravated I ended up making the food we had brought back by myself so that I could be left alone so I missed pretty much the whole first half of the game. Then I just couldn't shake my shitty mood, so I went upstairs and I took a nap. Saw like, 10 plays maybe.

When I got up, I felt much better and so Angel and I got up and started to get ready so we could take the girls out. I even got to pregame for the first time in a long time. lol. We took the girls to Club Z and they danced and had a good time. Then Rheadrea shows up and someone invites her back to the house. Yeah. We get back to house and we're drinking and playing Mario Party and then Rae knocks Angel's camera into a cup full of soda! Of course, I'm pissed and run the camera upstairs and proceed to put the fan on it high blast. Rae leaves soon after, doesn't even mention the camera, no sorry or anything. That shit pisses me off. She was drunk to begin with, she locked her keys in her car when she got to the house and then that shit with the camera. AND SHE ACTS LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED! Something always gets fucked up when she gets drunk. That's why I don't like to mess with her when she's high or drunk cause she's oblivious to everything.

Sunday, we take the girls to Megan's dorm since we have to go the Beanz' wedding that night. We did that after we went to the University Town Center and Angel and the girls went to a couple stores. We get back tot house but we have to get Johnathan's car out since he works Sunday night. So Ed, MI, and I head over to the car. Still no luck. Time is running out. Thankfully Korey gave Johnathan directions to the wedding on the way over. Ed and I push the car as far as we can. Still stuck. Then a guy who has a tow truck goes by. I shit you not. He pulled the car out in 8 minutes (including the 5 minutes it took him to go get it). On our way back to the house. I get dressed, khaki pants, blue dress shirt, one of Johnathan's ties. Angel and I were off. We had to go past the Glenmark Center and make a couple turns (right on Tyrone, left on Snake Hill, right on Ed Dunn). We finally pull up and we see everyone is in the backyard. So we hustle over as quiet as we can and Krista is JUST walking out to meet Beanz'. We grab some seats and get ready for the ceremony.

8 minutes. Done.

MOST AWESOME WEDDING EVER. lol.

Before I forget, this was at Krista's parents house. The only thing overlooking this house, was Cooper's Rock. You could see it from their backyard. Then they had an awesome lakeside view of Cheat Lake and the only house near there's was other family members houses. It was SERIOUS.

As Bearcat said, "They're not rich. They're wealthy." Word.

Just a warning: Angel's catholic.'Nuff said.

Angel and I chatted with E, CJ, Korey, Bearcat, Cortez, Steph...let's just say everyone we knew. lol. Then we headed to Star City for the reception at the Knights Of Columbus.

After the introduction of the new Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Mitchell, we were served rather quickly and then the customary dances got under way. The food was excellent. Now I had sampled a few drinks at the bar already (rum and pepsi, gin tonic) but I settled on appletinis for the night. Shut up.

But the rest of the night was great. I danced with Angel...scratch that I danced a lot period. And everyone had a good time. And Beanz' said he fucking loved me. lol. I knew what he meant. That was a real special night for everyone there tho. I don't see how it wasn't.

Monday, Angel, Nikki, and I took Tiana back to Buckhannon. Then we came back, had ice cream at Coldstone with Megan and they left. I took Johnathan to work at 9 since he can't drive still. I picked him up from work at 7:15 this morning. I went to my first two classes.

And here I am.

I didn't go to sleep last night.

I got so caught up redesigning the Soundvizion myspace and promoting 6's show on facebook so much that they threatened to disable my account that the time was flying by.

And it was 3 am.

I have an 8 am class on Tuesday and Thursdays. I knew that if I went to sleep, I wasn't getting up.

So I waited it out. Went to both my morning classes. Came back to house. Crashed for about an hour or so. Got up, shaved and showered. came back downtown for my last class.

I know I'm tired, but at least the little nap I got to take helped.

I stayed up until 7 in the morning. Slept until 1-ish. Went to class at 3:30. Went to the station afterwards. Called Angel. Ran a few more places than came back to the house.

Just got done im-ing Angel. Man I need to get my phone back.

Haven't wrote ANYTHING today. Wack.

Watched some Monk and Adult Swim with Ed.

I did make mad posts at the station tho, right? lol.

Matt's hating on Twitter. lol. Kinda.

I figure doing a couple R&B remixes will get me back in the writing mood. Always helps.

I'll start promoting the 6'6 show hard on the internets tomorrow.

I have this urge to read the Knightfall storyline. Need to get on that.

I don't know, I have another hour and a half in me. Think I'll eat some PB&J.

It isn't my fault. I went to the station so I could call Angel since my phone's off. That's a hour round trip since I walked. And sat on the internet there in between. No big deal, you'll get at least another one.

Last night was as disastrous as I thought it would be. Everything is okay now but I definitely caused a scene in Bent. I really don't care who saw me tho, they don't me. lol. And I was sober too so I won't even try to blame it on that.

Today I worked on Angel's website/blog for her A.P. History class. After several attempts we finally got it the way she wanted it. I just hope the site's more user friendly for the kids then it was for me.

We got Coldstone and she left around seven-ish.

Now I type alone. Technically Ed's downstairs and the menu from the School For Scoundrels DVD is playing over and over. I probably have another hour in me before I crash even tho I have no class until 3:30. Lucky me.

I should write something. Anything in fact. Maybe I will. Food would be nice too.

I decided I would name my regular posts whatever song title I have in my head at the moment so don't read too much into it. lol.

I'm late. Technically, if I hadn't decided to read my friend's list, I'd be done already. But expect at least 1 other post today to make up for me missing a day.

Buck's had an okay crowd last night but it wasn't an okay paying crowd since most of the people there didn't pay to get in. E said if 6 doesn't draw decent crowd next Thursday, he's not doing anymore shows at Buck's. Which kills my Sept. 18th show. Which equals wack. I'm gonna try to promote like hell to make sure that doesn't happen. We were competing against the first Thursday back for students too so you couldn't expect it to be super packed.

After the show, I tried to walk back to the house so I could relax and listen to my ipod, but Leighann insisted I get her car since she was taking Jay home. Turned out they were going to IHOP until I informed them that our IHOP is only open 24 hours on Friday and Thursday. So then somehow they go from let's go get food to let's go to Rheadrea's. So we drive all the way to Evansdale from South Park to Rae's new place. We were only in her room which is essentially the basement but it's pretty nice. Rae hit on Leighann as I stared at the ceiling in utter boredom/watched Jay snore in a chair. Thankfully after about 40 minutes, Leighann got us out of there and got us back to our respective places. lol.

Today was the first day I wasn't at the station since Monday because I don't have class on Friday. I took care of some errands then Johnathan and I went to Wal-Mart to get some headphones so we could record better. He even bought me some chinese. lol. Then we got back only to discover he didn't have the lyrics to the song he wanted to record since he writes everything on his comp and his printer has no black ink. Another opportunity blown...

Angel's here for the weekend so that will help me go back into normal sleep patterns for a few days. Rae was having her birthday party tonight but I skipped out since my lady's here. We're supposed to go out tomorrow night for Ed's official birthday night out. Should be fun. Scratch that, I pray that it's fun and drama free.

I'm DJ-ing on U92FM right now. The Urban Diner as usual. I'm on every Thursday from 8pm to 10pm. For those of you that's not in my area, you can always check it out on the web at http://u92.wvu.edu and click the Listen Live link. That's eastern time but it has to be the best hip-hop and R&B on radio that I know. lol.

I found my interview I did with Method Man way back when. It's really bad. I sound so nervous because it's METHOD MAN. But I'll still post it up so we can all laugh together. But I'm the only person i know that's interviewed Method Man.

Today is Ed's 26th birthday. He came to 123 last night and I suppose he's planning on coming to Buck's tonight. He seems to be enjoying himself so I'm glad about that.

Since June, we've (Soundvizion and the Morgantown DJz) have been doing a weekly Thursday night show at the bar in South Park called Buck's. It's not a bad spot. It get's a little smoky but their stage is nice, they have a video projector, and even a room off from the bar that makes for a "V.I.P." area. I'll be there tonight but I don't think I'm performing there again until September 18. I'm second headlining show!

Gotta get back to the radio...
