TV Marriages
Robin

A month ago, The Office finally had Pam and Jim take the final step in their television romance by marrying them in the most hilarious (yet touching) manner possible. Watching it, I got choked up watching these two characters I've watched for years tie the knot. Then I tried to think of some other tv marriages I've seen over the years...

I couldn't really think of any.

Don't get me wrong, I've watched a shitload of tv in my 26 years, but nothing really jumped at me. Rachel & Ross never got (willingly) married. J.D. & Elliott haven't been married on Scrubs. Turk & Carla got married on Scrubs but since I saw the whole run after I saw random episodes where they were already married, no dice. Most of the shows I grew up watching already had the married couple like The Cosby Show and Family Matters. Or the couple never went all the way like Sam & Diane on Cheers. The one marriage that just came to mind was Whitley and Dwayne Wayne's on A Different World, but I think I was too young for that to have any impact.

It could go either way I suppose where some marriages are awful and some are perfectly done like The Office's. Or it could just depend on the person. Is there any tv marriages I'm missing?

Top 10 TV Shows

Took it from [info]bobbydrake2000 .

Scrubs: I didn't get into this show until 2007 at the end of season 6 but it's quickly become my favorite TV show. The mix of humor and drama has always been perfect and I've never really been disappointed with any episode. Even season 7.

House: Another show I just started watching religiously. Greg House is an amazing character in the fact that he gets away with things that no human being should get away with it. And he's a complex character. I'll take the original team over the current one even tho the originals are still at Princeton Plainsboro. Olivia Wilde can just stay in my bed on a permanent basis.

24: Another show I was late to the party for. I picked up season one three years agao and my gf got me seasons 2-5 for Valentine's Day in 2007. So I got thru season 1-3 only to discover season 4 was a deifferent region. So I've been waiting on my Netflix to show up. But you ahve to watch this in DVD form, it's just two good to wait in between episodes.

Family Guy: I have to admit that Fox let's McFarlane get away with anything now and it's made the show worse, but I still tune it every single week and get a decent number of laughs. The earlier seasons were better.

The Office: I can't believe how much I like this show. I never thought the trials of a paper company and it's stupid ass boss would make for good comedy. I'm glad someone else did.

Sex and the City: I started watching this show for the wrong reasons when I first heard about it in the late 90's but I got hooked. Anytime it's on TBS I watch it. Any other channels edit it way too much.

Dragon Ball Z: i'm slowly making my way through the seasons. I started watching this with my nephew when he was in elementary school and got hooked on it. I've always loved the action but I'm really scared to see the movie.

Monk: i don't watch this as much as I should but I always love an episode of Monk. Tony Shaloub was born to play this role. That's why he wins so mnay effing Emmys. lol.

King Of The Hill: I know a lot of people hate this show but I've always loved it since I discovered it. The story of the residents of Arlen Texas has never gotten old for me, but the newer episodes haven't been exactly up to par.

Futurama: I'm gonna say something crazy: I like this show better than the Simpsons. Don't get me wrong, I respect what The Simpsons has done and I love watching it but I've just always found Futurama 10 times funnier.

Scrubs Season 8

I haven’t watched one Heroes episode yet (I have them all). I decided to stick to watching 24 on DVD. I’ve missed a few episodes of Family Guy and The Office. But I haven’t missed an episode of Scrubs.

Season 8 has been a great rebound from a lackluster an strike shortened season 7. The show makes sense again, each episode touches on that emotional nerve earlier seasons were known for, and it’s just plain funny. The move to ABC does show at times as the hospital building is less utilized and some characters don’t appear in some episodes (I think JD hasn’t been in two) but the show is hitting on all cylinders. Even the interns that they’re currently pushing on YouTube and heavily on the show work very well.

The interns work so well in fact that even with most of the main cast leaving at season’s end (Braff, Faison, Reyes) and hints of another doctor leaving Sacred Heart, I think Scrubs could even last for a season with the new interns and old favorites like the Janitor, Cox, Kelso, and Ted. But ABC (or the fans) probably won’t go for it.

So while ABC and Bill Lawrence decide my favorite TV show’s ultimate fate, I’ll just savor every moment of season 8 and envision the day when I get all my Scrubs DVDs back so I can get my marathon on again.

Dr. Perry Cox

PROS:
- antiwar credibility: opposed war from beginning
- almost always right about everything
- gives additional credibility on healthcare reform
- likely to be absolutely overpowering in vice-presidential debate

CONS:
- kind of a jerk
- personal life (unmarried common-law relationship with two kids) somewhat colorful for a potential nominee
- predilection of calling Obama “Newbie”

Damn You Dream!

Anyway, I had this awesome dream for a second time. More than likely it comes from the fact that I've been watching all the seasons again. I had the Scrubs dream. Not just a my life if I was a character on Scrubs, but my life as an actor on Scrubs.

It was awesome.

I was wearing blue, more than likely an intern. I looked down at my name tag on my shirt and looked just like the ones on the show.

I know I'm friggin obsessed.

I just had a couple lines and I think the plot involved someone losing something and me joining Janitor and Turk in finding it. I remember we actually did one of the scenes and then I even got to watch it on camera. I believe some type of dance was involved at some point.

Then my alarm went off.

It was awesome.

Scrubs Petition
Hyphen Drawn
[info]bhyphen
"Because of the writer's strike, there has been some issues with Scrubs' schedule on NBC. They planned to drop it after this season. Recently, ABC has shown interest in taking the show off of NBC's hands and giving it the extra airtime it needs to finish the way it was supposed to. NBC hasn't reacted well to this idea. Whether NBC gives in and gives it the time it needs or whether it sends it off to ABC, we want our show to have the end the way it's supposed to. We want to do what it takes for this show to get it's ending. It's up to us, the fans, to keep supporting the show."

Scrubs News!

From [info]imnosuperman
Longtime NBC comedy "Scrubs" is heading to rival network ABC.

Sources say ABC is in negotiations to pick up 18 episodes of the show from Disney corporate sibling ABC Studios, which has produced the series for NBC since 2001.

A broadcast show switching networks, though often discussed during contract renewals, is a rare event. Previous network jumpers include "JAG" (NBC to CBS) and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (The WB to UPN).

The writers strike cut short NBC's 18-episode final-season order for the Zach Braff medical comedy to 12 episodes. Sources say the network has been reluctant to order additional episodes for next fall, citing the fact that it already has some fresh episodes in the can. NBC reportedly floated various end game scenarios to producers, including ordering one final episode, or producing the remaining episodes direct to DVD.

Details of the ABC deal are still being hammered out as contracts for most cast members and writers have not been picked up beyond the current season.

After struggling in recent years to launch a hit comedy, ABC scored this season with Christina Applegate freshman "Samantha Who?" The "Scrubs" pickup will give ABC another half-hour title with a built-in audience, and it makes financial sense for Disney.

It's been a rocky ride for "Scrubs" on NBC. The network has repeatedly shifted the critically praised but modestly rated show around its schedule. For the past two seasons, NBC also waited until the 11th hour to pick up the comedy series with partial season orders.

Most recently, "Scrubs" has aired as part of NBC's Thursday night lineup along with "The Office," "My Name Is Earl" and "30 Rock," where the medical comedy was often the lowest-rated of the bunch.

Please oh please oh please!

That's all that can be said about the latest buzz whipping through Hollywood today regarding NBC's notoriously underappreciated comedy, Scrubs.

Inside sources at ABC confirm to us that the "wheels are in motion" to bring Scrubs to the alphabet network, and one highly placed insider says it is looking "very likely" that the move from NBC to ABC will go down.

Say it with me now: Holler!

Word is, although Scrubs honcho Bill Lawrence had planned to wrap up the series at the end of this season, the prospect of a new network—one which appreciates and actually promotes the series—has made him willing to produce...wait for it...18 episodes for a very solid eighth season next year over at ABC.

Even better news? Word inside the Sacred Heart inner circle is that Zach Braff—and all the key players—are also on board with an 18-episode run on ABC.

Obviously, this is jaw-droppingly good news for us fans, who have been deeply concerned there would be no proper ending to Scrubs, which was halted six episodes before finishing out what was to be its final season on NBC. Peacock-net insiders say the options NBC had offered Lawrence to close out the series were "disappointing" and "just not enough," including one final episode to wrap up the storyline or a straight-to-DVD finale.

Just last week at the Independent Spirit Awards, Zach Braff had this to say about Scrubs' status: "The network is figuring out how many they want. The studio is figuring out how much they want so…this is the last season. It’s over but we’re not exactly sure how many more they’re doing." Well, ZB, how about 18 more on a network that will love you?! How's that sound?
Stephen McPherson

Scrubs, which is produced by ABC Studios (formerly Touchstone), has been courted by ABC before, and is a personal favorite of ABC President Steve McPherson, who helped develop the show while he was at Touchstone, alongside Lawrence (with whom he remains good friends).

Last May, when NBC announced it was picking up Scrubs (so ABC could not have it) McPherson told me: "I am bummed. Bill and I developed that show together, and we had a beer early last week and we were hoping it would work out. But I'm happy for those guys that they got another year. It's such a great show."

Clearly.

(A request for comment from NBC has not yet been returned. We'll let you know if we hear anything more.)

Teletech hasn't been too bad.  I've only been through the training portion though, nesting and the taking of calls starts tomorrow.  Customer service calls for Bank of American credit card customers.  Wack.

U92's 25th anniversary weekend came and went.  I didn't attend any of the events.  Since I got kicked out of school I really don't feel as part of U92 as I used to.  And Kim giving my Friday shift sucked too but I did deserve it.  From what I've heard and seen it was a huge success.  And Ed and I had an awesome Diner shift on Saturday evening.

Last night we celebrated Stevie's coming 25th birthday at the Martini Bar.  With a 300 dollar bar tab.  Good times, noodle salad.

The mixtape is almost done.  2 songs to record.  One is ready and the other track is half done as I'm waiting on someone to add their part.  Then I got to get the hosting and E's part and the voicemail skits.  Then it's ready.  I should make the cover soon.

Jay-Z - Roc Boys (And The Winner Is)

Dragon Ball Z Sagas is addictive. Especially with the cheat codes.

I'm regularly watching Heroes, House, South Park, My Name Is Earl, 30 Rock, The Office, King of the Hill, and Family Guy.  And of course Scrubs as I catch up on last season before the season premiere this Thursday.  And The King of Queens a lot too thanks to Ed. And the Sunday night Adult Swim line up (Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Metalocalypse, Frisky Dingo, Lucy Daughter of the Devil, and Venture Brothers.  And Boondocks is back on Mondays at 11:30!

Now let's hope there's regular posting.

The good news: Season 7 of Scrubs is in production!

http://www.quickstopentertainment.com/2007/08/10/scrubs-blog-back-in-production/

I watched Are We Done Yet Yesterday and John C. McGinley was in it.  I kept expecting him to talk to Ice Cube like he does J.D. but it didn't happen.  He made the movie for me though.

So anyway, one of my newest favorite shows even though I've always watched it when it was on but now I'm addicted to it is SCRUBS.

Today I found out that when I'm not listening to my iPod, I've picked up a fierce inner dialogue.  No lie.
