I don’t remember when it was I announced that I supported Obama in the Presidential election. Not that it got nay news coverage but watching the arguments between Mick and Dino caused me to keep my distance. To be honest, I didn’t think America had it in them. To elect the first (half) black president. I thought McCain would be making the inaugural address today. But thanks to a brilliant campaign and a VP candidate from Alaska, Barack and Joe did it.

I wondered a few days after the election if Bush could leave office then and just get paid for the last few months he had left. It seemed like it would be forever until this day would be here.

But now, January 20th is upon us.

I’ve said before this was the first presidential election/candidate I cared about in my soon to be 26 years. I hope I do get this excited about someone again.  I know I will about Obama in 2012, but I want to feel like I do now in my lifetime again. I don’t want this to be my sole memorable presidential moment.

I’m super excited. And I know, this isn’t gonna change everything overnight. I never expected it to. I just wanted America to go in a different direction. I hope Barack is just the first piece in that new direction I hope for.

Here’s to you Barack. I’ll have a cold one (or two) in your honor later.

Don't let us down Barack. And by us I mean everyone. No pressure.

I was with Monstalung when they called it. We both sat and stared at the TV speechless for about 10 minutes. Wow.

UPDATE: Obama won 6 counties in WV, including mine. That's a pretty awesome feeling.

Yeah so tonight I was scheduled to perform at 123 for the WVU Young Democrats show called Party For America. I'm super amped to be involved with something like this so I make my set about 50 some minutes and I'm all hyped up.

I get there about 9:10. Supposed to start at 9. First mistake (no black jokes either! lol). Cortez is there but he has to set up his tables. 9:20. The he spins some stuff to get in the groove of thing. 9:25. I'm on.

This would have to be my worst performance in awhile. I just wasn't in the moment I suppose. I started with "PSA" but it was really too slow. "Best Fall Back" was better. "Death Before Dishonor Part 2" was good. "Come Out Swinging" was cool until Strizy messed up on the tables and threw me off and I did the third verse second and the second verse third. I skipped "Feelin' So Good". Mistake. "Gun To My Head" started out good but I messed up the second verse and we killed it. I never perform it. "Ain't Right" was okay except for me stumbling over the actual track so I could say my Obama line. Then I think "Demon In The Bottle" was next and that was so so. And then...my set was over so the next band could go on.

I squandered a great opportunity to get new fans since a lot of the people there weren't typical hip-hop fans. But I blew it. I blame myself for being late tho and for trying to do too much. I should have stuck with what I know.

As for "Swagger Like Us", I really like it but I don't think anyone else is too impressed with it. No one commented on it on lj or facebook. Chiv said he enjoyed it (which doesn't sound that great lol), E said it was okay and Johnathan said it was a good track. So I don't know. I'm about to put it on myspace and post it on wvrapscene and see what happens. But I'm getting the same feeling about "Swagger" as I had about "J's And Nikes". I really like it but I don't know if it'll make the final cut of the new mixtape. We'll see.

After 6 performed at midnight, the whole crew headed to Rain and Octane to see Moose and Sean respectively. MI dropped me off. Now here I am.

Angel will be here around 7 this evening with all her stuff from Keyser which means she'll finally be moved in! So that's one thing I can look forward to. I work all weekend tho and I'm probably gonna miss another Soundvizion video shoot tonight.

So yeah, I'm gonna twitter, check facebook, and go to bed. Until later.

I got some sleep! Really. lol.

Didn't really do too much. Watched Lingo and Cheaters and some hidden word game show. Then Angel, Johnathan, and I played Mario Party 8. I lost my second game in a row when i normally beat everyone's ass. I'm not concerned tho. Yet.

Apparently Rheadrea got super wasted at her birthday party and practically destroyed her house. I'm sooooooooo glad I missed that. lol.

I just ate a nice Hot N Ready pizza (some pieces rather) from Little Ceasar's. It definitely hit the spot. Now I'm looking at some Olympics with Angel and Ed before we all start getting ready to go out for his birthday night out. The men's basketball team are in the gold medal game tomorrow morning. I hope to catch that since I missed all of their games so far. It's a talent.

I hope to start writing some new songs tomorrow evening. It's been awhile.

Oh yeah, Obama/Biden '08! I'm hearing how this isn't a good move for Obama but I'm still voting for him in November.

But blog updated: check. I'm now caught up. Keep up with my Twitter cause it's dope. lol.

Obama secured the democratic nomination. Awesome. And considering that, you would think he'd have a cakewalk to the White House.

Wrong.

Since I'm dating a die hard Hillary fan, I hear things. Instead of Hillary supporters voting Obama in November (like I would have for Hillary if she had won) I've heard that they'd rather vote for Nader, McCain, or write in Hillary.

Which means McCain is going to be our next President.

I highly doubt that Obama will ask Hillary to be his vice, which would be the easiest way to not split the vote IMO.

Four more years of republican leadership makes me sick to my stomach.

- likely to be absolutely overpowering in vice-presidential debate

CONS:
- kind of a jerk
- personal life (unmarried common-law relationship with two kids) somewhat colorful for a potential nominee
- predilection of calling Obama “Newbie”
